The national news reports EVERYTHING that happens in the northeast but not as much of the rest of the country. If we are all equal then why did a big storm hitting NYC get more news coverage than the same storm causing a huge tornado in Texas. If an NE building or school gets evacuated it makes headlines but 2 people killed at NASA in Houston got maybe 30 seconds coverage tonight. It seems that the news is bias. What do you think, am I wrong?

One, NYC is not the most important city in the world, I don't care to know everything that happends there and it doesn't need to be brodcasted as national news. Two, I don't mean to be disrespectful, all I want is a little more respect for the rest of the states in this nation and I think everybody not from the NE would agree with me, sorry honeys but you are sadly mistaken.

It depends on which news source you are reading. Some focus on one thing more than the other even if it is "national news".

NYC is the most important city in America and in the world so of course it is going to get more press than the entire state of Texas. And the NASA thing is on the front page of Yahoo!

Well, geez, I walked into the living room today to see the news alert about Nasa on Fox news. Seems like they spent quite a while on the story, until they knew that the gunman had been captured.

The happening at Virginia Tech was awfully big news. Yo want them to leave that story for, what??? Smaller events in the west?

It's all a matter of population distribution. Something like 3/4 of the nation's population is on the East Coast. I live in Kansas, so short of a nuclear explosion we won't be seen on national news, except for instances that reinforce regional stereotypes.

Sad to say but it's all about revenue...MONEY!!. Unfortunately
there are more people in the northeast . Unfortunately that's where commercials promote there products to the mass of people . I do know this that abc nbc and cbs every morning give a small lot of time to local weather talk to your station
and find out why they don't

I definitely agree with you! I don't know how many times I've heard the news about the incident at Virginia Tech. So many people die everyday around the United States, and yet we only hear about half of those people.
