Yes there are places that still allow child marriages., but they require parental consent But that is in the United States, she could go to another country, Mexico, Canada or other. If you suspect this then you need to open the can of worms and let her know that you disapprove. If she is going to do it, then she is going to do it! But at least you aren't just allowing her to run off and do something she most likely will regret later. How old is the boyfriend? If he is 18 or older you have to accept some of the blame for allowing her to date a male that much older than her. If they are the same age and you want to make an impression then shock her and let her know what you suspect and ask her how they plan to live. Is he working or can he provide a roof over her head or put clothes on her back, shoes on her feet or food in her mouth? The worse case scenario is you were wrong in your suspicions and may have to eat a little crow. But if you boil the crow long enough it is as tender as chicken. In other words not saying anything is worse than being wrong. Good Luck.

I've heard that Virginia and Florida will marry at about 16. Matter of fact, if I'm not wrong Florida's sexual consent is 12. If she's pregnant or has a child with the boy she can get married anywhere she wants to without parental consent. I'm a 16 yr. olds mom also. All you can do is sit and talk with her about this. You know how kids are they'll do what they want. Try to remember when you were that age. Maybe she's planning to do this because you are too strict with her. Loosen up on her a little, give her space and she'll do exactly what you want.
Good luck.

She cannot marry at 16 without parental consent.

Running away is a different matter. You need to check with the laws of your state, and find out what the law is regarding runaways. In New York, at 16, a child can leave home, and the parents can do nothing about it. The parents have to continue supporting the child, and provide medical insurance, but cannot force the child to return home!

if the laws haven't changed, she could go to Maryland and get married without your consent, a boy has to be 18, otherwise he has to have a concent. I think all states should be consent under 18.

your asking the wrong question. You should be asking what do I need to do to convence her that what she is doing is not very smart and the answer to that is to go to a type of counciling that is specifically for your situation

I think hill people (Kentucky, Tennessee) allow child marriages. Watch out for parent impersonators who will pretend to be parent of your child and sign for marriage.
