Don't ALL headlights use a switch?

Get a relay that will handle the load of the lights. Come off the battery through a fuse and wire to the contacts on the relay, on the other side of the contact wire up the lights. Then wire the 12v to the switch and the other lead will go to the coil contact on the relay and then ground the other coil contact.

Battery positive to one of the switch terminals and the other switch terminal to the high beam switch. Make sure you're using a switch rated for at least 20 amps.
