I use the jewelry cleaner liquid w/ the basket - Goddard's.

It's available at some drug stores. Bed, Bath & Beyond carry similar products by other manufacturers.

If it's solid gold jewelry or has settings of hard gemstones - there shouldn't be any problem.

Pearls, coral, & turquoise need special care.

My favorite way to clean gold is with toothpaste. (paste not gel) Take a soft cloth put a dab of paste on the cloth and rub
on gold now use another white soft cloth to rub the paste off.
when done rinse and dry gold. It will be gleaming! Another good thing is a few drops of ammonia in warm water and let it soak. That's best for gold with gemstones.

Let them boiling in water with some drops of bleach(only if they don't contain pearls)
