How can being born during a certain sign affect how your personality is?

I love to read horoscopes etc..and my sign is almost 100% me but id like to know how does your sign make u have that kind of personality. I dont get that part of horoscopes? i hope im making sense..just wana know basically how being born during a certain sun sign affects how you act etc.

Race, religion, nationality, family upbringing and other background events are key to personality. It is doubtful that astrologers back up their claims with any statistics.
In large cities there are such things as "time twins". These are births that are very close time wise, to different parents but in the same location. And to no ones suprise they do not share the same personality.

Astrologers emphasize the importance of the positions of the sun, moon, planets, etc., at the time of birth. However, the birthing process isn’t instantaneous. There is no single moment that a person is born. The fact that some official somewhere writes down a time of birth is irrelevant. Do they pick the moment the water breaks? The moment the first dilation occurs? When the first hair or toenail peeks through? When the last toenail or hair passes the last millimeter of the vagina? When the umbilical cord is cut? When the first breath is taken? Or does birth occur at the moment a physician or nurse looks at a clock to note the time of birth? What if they forgot to change their clock for daylight savings time? Until about thirty years ago Canadians recorded only the day of birth but not the time.
Sorry to raise more questions than answers but these flaws raise doubts.
