I have a studded belt from Hot Topic, and I know it wasn't cheap. I just thought the store was expensive, not that it was real leather. But when I was taking it off, I saw "Genuine Bonded Leather". Im reallly against animal cruelty, and wearing animals, so is it really leather or just like a "fancy name" or something?

i used to work in hot topic, & what is labeled as "genuine bonded leather" is real leather, just not as high quality as the other stuff...hot topic also sells other belts made with non-leather materials, so perhaps if u stll have the receipt, u could take it back & exchange it for another one...

If it says genuine leather. It's real leather. If it says man-mad materials or synthetic. Its fake. Plain and simple.

Yes, it is real leather. Genuine leather fibers are bonded together with latex to create a look very similar to that of genuine leather...creating genuine bonded leather.
