I'm a freshman, too.
I took Spanish 1 last semester, and I'm planning to take Spanish 2 my first sophomore semester.

Since you're already in Span. 1, I think you should go on to Span. 2.
I think that Spanish is easy to learn, and it may become very useful in the future.

Spanish will help you most in the US. It's also the easiest to pronounce. I personally took French - because I think it's beautiful - but I should have taken Spanish. I took a semester of Spanish in college. German is fairly easy to learn because a lot of English comes from German and you can see the similarities.

I'm am told that Spanish is the fastest-growing Romance language in the world in terms of number of speakers. You will probably have more opportunity to use Spanish here in the US than French or German.

Since you already have a start in Spanish, I would suggest sticking with it.

Everyone will tell you spanish, because it is a very heavilly used language here in the states, next to english. It's not terribly hard to learn, (from what I hear). Many jobs often prefer having a bilingual employee, depending on the job position. As for my personal recommendation, take the language that stirs your interest the most. You'll try harder and probobly do better. Good luck!

An Asian language is needed now , especially Chinese because of foreign trade. Since that is not offered in your backward school think about what are you planning to do in your future? Will it have to do with living in Europe? In that case German and French would be most helpful. Otherwise stick with Spanish because there will soon be more of them in the US and you may need it.

Stick with the Spanish. It's probably the easiest to learn of the 3, and if you live in North America, you can't go wrong with knowing at least a little Spanish. Buena suerte!

You are not confused. You are actually very wise to be considering all of this. Now , is there a family association with any of these countries? Any relatives? If not, then which of these countries are you most apt to visit in the future? I love the German language and it or Spanish would be my choice.
However this is your life and your choice. I would love to learn
French, but I have heard that it is difficult.
The best of luck to you.

I found German easier than Spanish. It's a good business language too. I really think that more schools should teach Chinese though... it's not as hard as people say and it is really going to be the most important foreign language for young people in business.

If I were you I'd go for Spanish. Its a lot easier to speak than French, it is real practical in real life because so many people in this country speak it, its good for your chances of getting a job in the future. The Spanish speaking market is huge and getting larger all the time. Buenas dias!
