I am not a routine person and I want to find work that I can do daily on my own, from the computer. The only problem is all the online work from home ads seem like gimicks. I don't really want to have to pay up front. Anyone know of anything that seems appropriate?

Yes. People will put a scam on you, if, you not careful. It hard to find something that really work, unless your an established business, or, provide something new and intriguing. EBay or something similar works when you have a product people want. NOT NEW!!!! OK? The reason, I can buy most anything local and not have to play the EBay BS. But! If, it something used and hard to find, or a collector thing, then this the way to go. Now, listen, I browse EBay and see what sells and what sells for good money. You can sell a baby toy for $5 and maybe make a dollar or two, most on shipping and handling fee. But, old cameras and Bisque dolls etc, are "HOT". But, you need to know what is hot and what is not. Any-who browsing help you know. Barbie dolls are a joke and Bisque dolls are the money. Once you know what going on you hit yard sales and auctions. I went to an auction and bid on a bunch of cameras. Got two lots for $5 each, $10 total and some were junk and there were some I sold for $50 each and I throw in some of the old junk cameras as a "Thank you gift" worked really well and I have a 100% feedback.
But, you can actually do this from home, buy and yard sale. Run the good stuff in the classifieds or EBay or something similar, EBay not your only source.
Myself, I make most money mowing yards. It a big thing today and you stay in good physical condition, though I just now getting up to par as winter my lay-back time. But, I guess that an out of house job.
I could talk for hours on what you can do, but, I just came in from a mow job and wait for my woman to come give me kisses and tell me she love me. ;-p
Just browse around think what going on and you can make it work. I even fix computers over the Internet, a person need a .dll file and I get it and install for $5 and they pay me!!!! This is all over the world and those $5 for 5 minutes add up! ;-D
