I have a 65 in COAP (computer applications) class, and a 70 in a Math class. The passing grade is 60 percent. And the tests (finals) are both worth 60 percent each. What do I need to get on each test to pass?

In my English class, I need a 60 percent on the final to pass the class. The passing grade is 60 percent. That final is worth 50 percent of my mark. The question is: what is my mark, coming into the final?

COAP:
you have 65*0.4=26 points so yo uneed 60-26=34 more points. Your grade on the hinal must be such that 0.6*g=34 or
g=34/0.6=57
Math
70*0.4=28 60-28=32 so
0.6*g=32
g=32/0.6=54

English
Since you need the same % on the final as the passing grade, you must have a 60 going in to the final. It doesn't even matter what % of your grade the final is.

Your current 65 is worth 65*.4=26 points of possible 40
So you need 60-26 = 34 more points to get 60
So .6x=34 --> x= 57 to pass COAP
You need 60-28= 32 to pass Math. So .6x=32 --> x = 54

You need 60*.5 = 30 out of possible 50 to pass
therefore you must have gotten 30 out of a possible 40 or 75% coming into the final.

COAP: 2*60 - 65 = 55

Math: 2* 60 - 70 = 50

mark in English = 2* 60 - 60 = 60

i do no longer think of looking the answer is the subject. Its understanding the way you wrote the question.. are you able to edit it so it incredibly is going to be comprehensible. merely attempting to comprehend what you recommend already drained my recommendations, no longer something left to discover a answer. is Rs a financial image? what's the equivalent of paise to Rs? then are you asking... in case you have Rs a hundred (like $a hundred) whats the main form of donkeys, horses and elephants can we purchase, on condition that the fee of a donkey is 50 paise, a horse fee Rs 50 and an elephant fee Rs 10? (the money could all be spent)... OMG!! my nostril bleeds.. LOL

65* 0.4 + x*0.6 = 60
x*0.6 = 34
x = 57 for passing grade in COAP

70*0.4+0.6x = 60
0.6x = 32
x = 54 for pass in math

passing grade is 60. you need 60 in final, so your existing mark has to be 60 as well.
