Drafting the best player in this case Calvin Johnson would be flat out stupid. They are drafting to many WR's. They need a solid back-up QB. I say they take the best Quarterback that is left in the draft.

The Lions have far too many other needs to draft a WR this time around, even if he is the best player in the draft.
On the bright side for the Lions, they did draft WR Roy Williams, RB Kevin Jones, LB Alex Lewis and OT Kelly Butler all in 2004, proving that even the Lions can have a good draft every now and then.
Matt Millen truly does suck, however. I don't know how you can get rid of him, but you really have to try.
The Lions are getting closer every year to having a solid defense. Had they kept Dre Bly, they would be even closer. But they did get RB Tatum Bell and OT George Foster in return. The Lions also signed a lot of good O-linemen this offseason & didn't lose any free agents that they couldn't afford to lose. With nine picks in this draft, I'm sure they can find upgrades at MLB and CB & start competing again in what is largely a pretty weak division (apart from the Bears.)

If Calvin Johnson is still available at pick #2 then that's who the Lions should draft. Drafting Calvin Johnson wouldn't be stupid, and not all their draft picks were stupid Roy Williams is a very good player and drafting Ernie Simms last year wasn't too bad. Ernie Simms did after all make the game winning tackle in the final game of the season. If they don't draft Calvin Johnson then Matt Millen will look more retarded then ever.

The Lions suck because they hired that clown Millen and they don't get rid of him for some reason. I'm a Packer fan and it's been fun for a while, but now this is just sad. How many horrible choices does this guy have to make for them to realize he's a horrible GM.

The lions suck because they waste there draft picks on players who suck. The last 3 draft's theyve taken three WR. And 2 of them sucked and i dont think either of them play for the lions anymore. The only good pick they had in the last 3 years is Roy WIlliams, He is good.

Plain and simple. this one is easy, its the Lions they have sucked since the 50s (except that 1 good year in 91 i believe) and until they have a new owner they will always suck which sucks for me because I live in Detroit and I am a true fan. Well I still have the Red Wings, Pistons and Tigers!

I think Matt Millen has pictures of Ford in compromising positions with a chicken. I used to think it was a sheep a few years ago.

Its the COACH. LOL.. no real strategy.. Its hard to watch them play. They do not work on any weakness. They turn soft.. I don't get it.. so I think It always comes down to the Coach..
