There is no legal age to become a woman or man from a girl and/or boy. But I would think once they turn twenty (20) they are considered a woman or a man, simply because 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 all end with 'teen', obviously meaning they are still a teenager (and you obviously become a teenager at 13, b/c that is the first year your age number ends with 'teen')

The age of a person does not mean they are a man or a women. The time that this happens is when a boy or girl begin to show responsibility for their actions, and maturity, do things on their own without having to be told to. Being an adult has to do more the frame of mind than it does age or size. You can be 65 years old and weigh 300 lbs and it doesn't make you a man. I am 51 and I know people my age that have never grown up.

You could have a point there if we only based it upon the girl being able to have a baby. Still in her mind has not reached it's adult maturity; being a woman means that you must have the brain compassity to think. behave and handle things like an adult woman. I hardly think 13 is the age for it. You know once I knew of a woman in her mid twenties who did things that my 12 y/o daughter would not be caught dead doing. Sure would make things easier wouldn't it. It is very rare, yet over here in Saudi Arabia I have heard of girls getting engaged as young as 13; usually their parents want them to finish school and mature more before the actual wedding takes place. I have also heard tell of a man who forced his 13 y/o sister to quit school so she could stay home and help her mom. Two yrs later when she was 15 he married her off to a 30 y/o man who had at least 3 college degrees was fluent in French and traveled the world. To make a long story short they were both miserable. Pardon me Sandstorm I rise to the challenge and tell you whole-heartedly as your friend Please stop this foolish thinking. This time my answer stays.

The legal age is 18, but its arbitrary and no scientific research will give you a different number. I have seen children at age 7 act more adult than the adults around them, and I have seen the opposite. I have seen 58 year olds act like little children, stubborn and immature. There is no number for some people. Age is merely experience.

Ductless glands that secrete hormones that circulate within the bloodstream affects cells within specific organs. For most you are absolutely correct, males stage this endocrine at around 14 to15 and females peak at around 13. At about these ages, due to hormones fully 'sprouting' and the development hits and or 'drops' as most put it.

Seriously, at 13 and 14, most of us are not mature at all... we're still very selfish, inconsiderate, irresponsible... and even at 18... you know how horrible lots of teenage drivers are. They make bad choices... choices a responsible adult wouldn't make.
It varies from child to child. I'd say about 20... well, that's about when I'll hopefully get mature.

I agree with you on the age thing. i think its funny, that there are all of these 16 and 17 years olds, and they are so excited to be eighteen, and get all of these privileges...disobeying their parents and such, but its not like they grow a brain over night or anything.
