A feather pillow is about 20 cm x 20 cm x 40 cm = 0.016 cubic meter, weighs about 0.5 kg. Thus, around 30 kg/cubic meter. 1000 kg therefore is around 32 cubic meters, size of a large truck (lorry, for you tonne enthusiasts).

The volume depends ...Compressed or un-compressed ???
Uncompressed = about 400 Mm³ (Cubic Mega-metres)
(For ! ..and sparbles) I am aware that a tonne (metric), = 1,000kg... the asker was asking for space .. volume.)

(I've now looked up the answer .. see below).
(Also for sparbles.. I believe that I have more knowledge and experience in my little finger than you will ever have in the whole of your body !!)

A ton of feathers would weigh a ton. . . Just like a ton of steel would weigh a ton. . . Doesn't matter what you're weighing. A ton is a ton.
