IF Nothing is certain, then believe Nothing. What you really wanna know is how to get to 'know' Nothing...lol
Well, nobody can tell you that, so don't believe what you hear. You will never see it either, so don't believe your eyes...lol
What else is left? You, it's all within you, dig in and....
Good luck!
PS. You're half way there, you already 'know' that Nothing is certain....lol

yes your are correct "Nothing Is Certain"
So How Do I Decide What To Believe?
Honestly for much of my younger life i believed i lacked common sense, when i was assigned a simple task i would contemplate many different interpretations of that assignment and the result would be a delay in carrying out the task or lack of confidence in knowing which interpretation to follow.
(always resulting in an angry face standing in front of me)
i began to develop my own little "theory" on deciding what to believe in order to get by in life, and in fair the "theory" seems to be common sense.
i would build up my belief based on the multiple sources and the logic of consistency (at the time i didn't even know what logic was)
my basic principle was this:
i would ask a person for there opinion on a particular subject,
on hearing their opinion i would make an argument ALWAYS opposing that opinion, when the argument was over i would adopt their argument.
when not talking to others i would reflect on previous arguments allowing them to challenge each other in my mind always adapting what i feel to be the strongest (in part or full)
i would also think about "why" i chose a particular argument to be stronger in this way the principle itself can change with experience.
i would say that what i was searching for was an answer to your very question "how do i know what to believe".
i have found the answer to that question sometime last year,
it was the word "axiom" an axiom is an assumed truth and a proof is a truth that can be logically deducted by the axioms.
from that i then knew that nothing can be certain it can only be true within the set axioms (i prefer to say "parameters"),
i now know that all my past "faults" that i have beaten myself up for so many times are all forgiven for "who is to say that the instructer was right"

Nothing is certain but some things are likely and some things are not. I decide what I believe in based on my experience of the world, and my deduction thereof. I try and keep an open mind when it comes to new experiences while some things seem unlikely if I experience the phenomenon then I have no excuse to not incorporate that experience in with all my others.

When thought demands that it finds what is certain and absolute, it then parts with beliefs that do not serve this new change, in order to find new beliefs that transform into understanding. When understanding comes, you know the heart is working just fine.

I guess... by studding it until I can believe its certain... When I was born most of things seems to me like they were from dreams... I just didn't know what they are... Now some things are so much certain that I can forget to look on them knowing they are where they are... and it don't concern only to objects but also to any occurrence... As much I know about them as much they are becoming certain... Sometimes some of them are illusions, so... in proper time... I find out that not everything is certain...

Since becoming an adult, I have based my belief upon my own life experiences and how they have affected me as a unique individual, for I believe that I am indeed my own person and so are you, my dear Lucky3. :)
I also base it upon what I have seen and heard in regard to OTHER people's life experiences, which greatly helps me to validate my own belief even more deeply in my mind.
If it feels morally and ethically just and good and right in my heart and soul, then my belief is right for ME and I feel peaceful with this thought.

Please don't use me as an example as to what to believe, how to believe, or when to believe. Mainly because I'm a poor example! But, I want 2 points, so I'm going to answer your question! What to believe starts with intelligence! I mean even the Bible says seek wisdom! Not just Biblical wisdom. So seek! Actually reading your questions and your 360, it looks like you've been on that journey for quite awhile.

Everything I believe is like a twinkie and has a shelf life. A belief is only true until you find information that conflicts with that belief.
I hope that I am not arrogant enough to think that all my beliefs are true.
