Sachin and Ganguly were left out of the team for Bangladesh so really I think he should face the writings on the walls.
Lara is quitting while he's still near the top, no one is forcing him out, he's leaving on his terms. I think Sachin should follow suit, leave us now with the many brilliant memories that he has created for us. If he continues to play he'll only damage his record and his reputation. It'll be obvious that he's a batsman who's playing for records and nothing else...after all Sachin has acheived everything he possibly wanted to.

Why should Sachin retire? He's only 33 whereas Lara is 37. I personally feel there's a lot of cricket left in him. Moreover this decision should be taken by Sachin only. Let's see how the Indian team wins without Sachin in the upcoming tour!

Not really. I think Sachin still has the potential to score more runs until his age of 35 or so. Let him come out of the darkness for some time then see if he really scores. Like Jayasuriya is in his 37, how come he is playing well? Only few matches in WI grounds does not prove that the World's Top ODI batsman is out of form.
[all my opinion]

It's all ab't money.people like Lara are quitting international cricket with a very positive image and have lived up to their respect. But Sachin.......all that I can say is he's really money minded and I am sure that he's gonna spoil his reputation with the way he's gonna walk out of cricket.People consider cricket as RELIGION and Sachin as GOD......but if such a situation is gonna continue..........cricket will remain a religion but Sachin will become DOG.

I fully agree with you. May be he is waiting for an opportune time to retire. If he is not selected in the team for couple of matches, he will be forced to retire and may be the authorities want that to happen.

It hardly matters now.Hasn't he already been 'rested' from the One day team.As for the test team i think he could be in there for a few more seasons.
