I just bought a used car from a guy and until I just read answers on the purpose of a spoiler, I didn't know that it doesn't do much of anything except looks for non-race cars. He took it off for some reason and gave it to me when I got the car. I don't know where to go to have it put back on.

Spoilers isn't just for race cars. The right spoiler on the right car does increase its appeal by 20%... My opnion anyway. As for your question, yes, a bodyshop is the best way to go. You can pretty much get them anywhere, dealership (pricey), or a mechanic (depend on how good is he with the painting job, those spoilers need to be paint to match exactly your car color you know that right? It doesn't come premade like that, so just because your mechanic is good with fixing cars, I wouldn't completely trust him with the paint job or you might end up with flaky bubble under your paint within several months). My recommendation is a small bodyshop, they're not as expensive as the dealership or the bigger guys, but they're a bodyshop so they still know what they're doing.

Well, if your car is a front wheel drive all it is going to do is push the air down on the back of the car and reduce your gas mileage, but if your car is a rear wheel, it'll provide traction. I would check out a few body shops, and some mechanics have a body shop in theor facility. Find the best price. Good luck!

If he took it off, then the holes should still be there. Just get some screw and a couple of lock washers and put it ack on. If he did fill the holes look in the trunk and see if you can still see where they came through, if not then a body shop, would be a good choice.

go to which one is cheaper if it has holes already for the wing,
a good mechanic should know how as should a body shop. If he had the holes where the wing was filled, go to a body shop.
