Abortion. I don't have to worry about babies breaking into my home.
I live in a fairly rural area and have horses - babies won't try to eat my horses, either.

This question doesn't make any sense. People who want abortion made illegal are probably the same people that do not want the possession of Handguns to be made illegal. Obviously they are going to choose that Abortion be made illegal. I think the answers above clearly agree with me. people will either say abortion or neither.

I would choose neither. I believe abortion should be legal and making possession of handguns illegal doesn't work; several countries have tried that to no avail.

Technically, both laws are unenforceable against the worst violators, be it a homemade gun (sping, slide lock, piece of pipe) or some creep with a coat hanger. I don't believe in taxpayer funded abortion for people too stupid or lazy to take precautions, or "in cases of incest" as they like to say (if it's that common they should look at chopping weiners off), but then I proudly carry teh bumper sticker "Stupid People Shouldn't Breed". If there were less stupid people out there, there would be less people committing crimes, then there would be less problem with the existance of handguns, and admittedly less need of them to stop crime. In the end it comes down to every person's moral settings, do you believe in life, or the right to take it when it pleases you. I woudl hope people would not commit abortions, but I also believe when they do, they will pay a price physically/mentally, a cost pro-abortion forces don't like to admit but studies support. This is where we get the crazy old cat ladies from who steal children's toys after dark and call the police all night long about someone looking in their window. I don't own a handgun, but admit I've thought about it, because liek those VT students I'd like to have the option of getting off at least one return shot instead of being helplessly slaughtered. VT fought against second ammendment rights over a year ago. there are monster out there who want to kill complete strangers, no, you shouldn't get a gun to feel brave, anyplace you need one to feel safe, is a place you might better not go. But we don't always have choices, and I had a elderly neighbor whose life was saved by her German shepherd from a violent criminal whose stolen car (he killed it's 83 year old owner) ran out of gas on my street . I felt "safe" until then. He didn't need a handgun to kill, but those unable to fight back or overwhelemed in numbers can usually point and pull a trigger. Firearms saved many lives of homeowners in New Orleans when the police went AWOL. Isreali school faculties can carry sidearms, tehy don't have school shootings there. So if I had to outlaw one, it would be abortion. Because outlawing firearms is stupid and counterproductive, no matter how many votes democrats hope to win. I never got anyone accidentally pregnant, nor can I get pregnant, so guess I'm terrible person for that choice. But it's not my biggest concern when it comes to how I vote, in fact, I vote for the NRA endorsed candidate, not the Christian coalition or right-to-lifers.

I guess if I absolutely had to choose between the two, I would chose to make Abortion illegal, even though I firmly believe every woman should have a choice, whether they exercise it or not is up to them, but it's still a choice...making handguns illegal would be a huge mistake...we just need to find a way to make it harder for criminals to get their hands on them. Our forefathers gave us that right and most citizens are responsible with their weapons and let me emphasize on the word " citizens."

Why are there always these "forced" hypothetical choices?
If I had one choice (or wish) it would be to make contraception available for teens.
