How does that saying go? Is it feed a fever and starve a cold or is it the other way around?

Ummm ...

There seems to be a great number of people arguing for either side and with good reason - it doesn't work.

I think it's supposed to be "starve a fever" so as to bring the temperature down.

I think you should feed a fever with paracetamol (or acetaminophen) of course following the correct dosage for the patient.
