That would depend on how the 10 mil was in there. Are we talking a single bearer bond or stacks of hundreds (which would weigh over 200 pounds)

Well if there was money in there and it wasn't being dissolved then the acid can't be very strong. Also, that'd have to be a pretty big jar to fit that much money in it! If there was something corrosion resistant that is worth $10 million - a diamond for instance, and the acid was strong enough to give me pretty severe burns then AND the only way to get it out was with my hand then I don't think so. Far better to spend time working out some other way of getting it out - by draining the acid for instance.

Well since the acid isn't burning the money I have to assume its a low level acid. So I am going to go ahead and say yes. If the thin paper can survive it then so can my arms. Plus I could always just toss on some rubber gloves and start fishing.

it would have to be a check, obviously, for me to grab it.

and even if i had to completely put my hand in - it becoming completely disfigured - I would do it. I'm sure a skin graph, if not covered by my insurance, would only be a few thousand.

Guess I'm money hungry.

If my hand could not be fixed or if it fell off afterwards, that may be a different story. I may say "no" then, since the sight of my hand (or lack thereof) would remind me of my greed every day. Something I could prob not live with.

Well, who in their right mind would put 10 million dollars in a jar of acid? Isn't a bank deposit more smart?

No.
Assuming the acid wont destroy the money, I’d break the jar on the floor and then do the needful.

wouldnt the acid dissolve the jar and the money? but in any case i would probably put some protective gear on so it dissolves that before it gets to my hand.

If the $10 million is intact, then the acid must be mild - like lemon juice. So, no damage to the money, no damage to my hand. I'd go for it.

No. The acid would have already ate the million and I don't want to lose a hand.

Wouldn't the money be dissolved? If somehow protected, I would dump the acid out, and be very careful removing the money from the protective covering.
