I'm not a doctor but my wife had her hysterectomy and I tried to learn what I could about the procedure before we went ahead with her operation.
There are three possible incisions. The first, and traditional incision, is vertical from the pubic bone upward toward the belly button. They go down through the muscles until they reach the uterus to remove it.
The second is horizontal along the top of the pubic bone. The cut through the muscles until they reach the uterus to remove it.
The third is through the vagina. They open the cervix and remove the uterus through that opening. If the ovaries are included, then they are removed through the same opening as the uterus.
If the cervix is removed, then that is also done vaginally.
The third method is the most recent and the easiest for recovery. However, the method used may well depend upon your state of health and the state of health of the organs to be removed. If there is a lot of endometrial tissue present, then the abdominal incision will be necessary for clean out purposes of the abdominal cavity. This is what happened to my wife. Endometriosis necessitated abdominal clean-out. This made her recovery longer. She lost a lot of blood and needed transfusions but she is all right now. In fact, she is in better health now than before the surgery.
Best wishes.

I had a entire belly hysterectomy and thank you to the severity of the endometriosis, frozen pelvis, etc. I had a bikini line incision. whilst all hair from "down there" that grow to be shaved, (in straight forward terms approximately 2 inches) grew lower back you won't be in a position to work out the scar in any respect. It did pass contained in the path of the traditional healing technique of being pink, then tricky and bumpy yet in any different case it relatively is a very hidden scar. previous I had 2 laps to purpose and delay the hyster or maybe then all I even have is a T shaped, very small bellybutton scar that If i actually felt i needed to hide i might desire to get pierced of a few thing, even although that's hardly noticable. Vaginal hyster are further and extra consumer-friendly, I in basic terms could no longer have one through different subject concerns.

It depends. The doctor decides on the method based on his expertise and the woman's condition.

They can be done through the abdomen, which means there will be an incision above your pelvic bone running horizontally.

They can be done through the vagina which means there will be no scar on the outside.

Or they can be done laparoscoplically- tiny holes are made in the abdomen through which a little camera is run and surgical tools are run. Then the uterus is removed through a small incision in the abdomen.

The doctor will cut a bikini cut. I had a c-section 22yrs along and just had a hysteractomy and they cut the same place. Good Luck.
