I hate when people say why are libs so stupid or why are conservatives so stupid.... just because people have different beliefs from one another does not mean they are of lower intelligence

No. Just like intelligence doesn't have anything to do with what football team you root for.

The people in both parties span the intelligence spectrum from genius to Schiffer-brains (say it aloud a few times..), probably in a fairly normal distribution curve about the average.

No it has nothing to do with what political party you are in. Anyone who says you are intelligent based on the way you vote is just being ridiculous. There are dumb republicans and dumb democrats the same as there are smart republicans and smart democrats.

It is just name calling for the sake of making themselves feel better about their own beliefs.

Actually there are statisticas most Republicans come from backgrounds of higher education, but that doesn't really speak or intelligence. There are also other statistics of backgrounds like democrats come from lower SES. This prolly speaks more of what the parties stand for than about the individual.

It's about education and integrity, not intelligence.
Karl Rove is very intelligent, as is Hillary Clinton.

Personally, I think integrity has more to do with it. I've known quite a few really "smart" people who are really lost when it comes to setting high standards and sticking to values and principles.

Intelligence can't matter.
Hillary for example is the "smartest" woman in the world yet she remains a dem.

I know most Democrats have higher IQs and better educated. But that doesn't mean they're better than Republicans or other parties.

well, there's no easy answer to that question, but statistics do show that conservatives tend to be both more successful and more happy in life.

they are more satisfied with their jobs, have more financial resources and report being happier with their family and more optomistic about life in general. on the other hand, liberals are very pessimistic and report being unhappy in life. and, as we know, they also tend to be less successful economically.

now these things may or may not be directly tied to intelligence... i believe they are.

I am fairly intelligent and logical thinker and have a above average IQ. I am also a critical thinker and like to stay in touch with what is happening. I try to look at issues by trying to imagine myself in others shoes. Thus I am a republican and have always been a republican.
