Dark Blue on a betta carries the same basic genetic make up as black and is very, very closely tied to each other. It's totally normal for a dark blue betta to have some black on the and especially on the head and gill plate areas. This area becomes more pronounced and noticable as the fish ages.

Wow, your undesirable fish. First, you like a heater, a completely submergible one if achieveable. The temperature fluctuations (putting in heat water and then it get chilly, put in heat water and so on.) is killing him. he's possibly in marvel from that fluctuation on my own. He needs to be stored at a delicate 76F-80F levels each and every of the time, with little or no longer fluctuation. Letting him get so chilly lowers his resistence and then issues take earnings of that and make him ill. till you get a tank heater, aim an incandescent lamp close to to the tank and it will strengthen the water temp some levels, fish will possibly stay straight away below the mild because of the warmth. All fish carry around micro organism and fungus and issues yet while they are healthy their organic resistence retains all those issues at bay yet while they get chilled and all that, the baddies take over and the fish can't combat them off anymore. If he's bloating and if his scales are increasing up, then it extremely is possibly dropsy--interior the two many years i've got been breeding bettas, i've got on no account everyday anybody who "cured" their betta from dropsy. it extremely is micro organism and maximum fish carry it around interior oftentimes and it purely will become a topic while the micro organism substitute into viralent. on condition that your guy remains ingesting, attempt soaking his nutrients in a fish antibiotic (penicillin, kanacyn, and so on.) in the previous feeding him to aim to get the drugs interior him (he might dislike the style and spit his nutrients out nonetheless, start to no longer even consume his nutrients).

You should be very proud of your Betta. He is in top condition. Very dominant alpha Betta's that are VERY healthy, always have their heads turn black to symbolize strength. In the wild, this means that no other Betta male would dare fight him. So, be a proud Betta moma, you have a fish in its prime!

Colouring on fish regularly changes, my goldfish is now half black, half gold, it's just when they get their adult colouring. Colouring often changes on fish which is why you have to be careful (especially with golfish and bettas) buying the colour you want lol. If he has gone of his food though, it could just be coincidence. I wouldn't worry unless he seems off his food for a while. Losing appetitie is often a sign that your fish is becoming ill.

Hi,
Bettas can get a condition called Ick. It is one of the many disease fish can get. It's like a bacterial infection. Your local pet store will have drops you can put in his water a couple times a day and if you catch it early he will probably be fine. Make sure to read the instructions before use. If left untreated and it is Ick, he could die. Hope this helps.
