House approves "Say on Pay" for CEO's of companies, which gives shareholders the right to cast a vote on pay.

I say if politicians want to give shareholders rights to vote on pay levels for CEO's, then citizens should have the right to vote on politicians pay level, including a pay deduction.

What do you think?

Oh, let's not limit it to pay. Let's also vote on their cushy golden retirement package and their gold-plated medical benefits. Let's give them the same benefits they give us!

I think it would be morally good. But realistically that would turn out terribly. People hate politicians regardless of what they do so they'd never get a raise, probably a cut. Then no one with any brains would ever run in elections and suddenly everything would be a gigantic disaster.

The best method would be to try to tie the salary of representatives to some sort of metric to measure inflation. That way they'd always earn the same value in real worth. I'm no economist so I have no idea if this would be feasible and if so how it could be accomplished.

There are some advantages on your advice. What you're in fact suggesting is limiting finished citizenship to those that in some way help their usa. It desires some nice tuning. If a guy or woman gets a extensive government income 365 days as a results of their profession or some thing it is going to not fee them their vote. case in point if a farmer gets a extensive subsidy they might desire to nevertheless be an entire citizen. the comparable with scientific care. If someone's toddler or relatives member is receiving backed scientific care they might desire to not be punished for it quite in the event that they oftentimes pay greater in taxes. Land proprietors would desire to constantly have a vote and infantrymen would desire to truly have a vote on the grounds that government coverage quickly impacts their lives and their lives are spent in nationwide provider. those are some factors to contemplate.
