one of the best shows i`ve ever been to was placebo in florianopolis, brazil, in april 2005...what an amazing concert!!! it was a very small outdoor venue & i was right in the front for the entire show...the energy was fantastic!!! i`ve been a placebo fan for years, but this show confirmed in my mind how great they really are!!! worst show was skid row/guns `n` roses in 1991, at an outdoor racetrack in birmingham, alabama...it had rained the entire day before, so everything was a sea of muck!!! skid row cut their set short because it started to rain, & axl rose got pissed off & left the stage because someone threw a firecracker near him...

Best gig was the White Stripes @ the Glasgow academy on the elephant tour. It as the first time I'd seen them live and they were fantastic. The chemistry between them is so tight and alive. it was the first time i heard them sing Jolene, there were bootlegs going around but i wanted to here live and it was worth the wait, also they played Felix the cat cartoons on a big screen before they came on. A great night.

The worst was fountains of Wayne @ the garage in Glasgow, it was a dark rainy monday night, i don't even like the band, I think i was drunk when i agreed to go. i wasn't drunk enough when i got there. Just AWFUL.

The most bizarre gig i have been to was Dougie McLean at the celtic connections festival a couple of years ago. I never thought I'd see the day a folk artist would have performance dancers, prancing about the stage, the best bit though was when they wheeled a tractor onto the stage of the concert hall and started to dance around it. My mouth was agape, had i been on drugs i would have been uncontrollable in my laughter. also i was a little late in arriving to the gig and forgot to turn my phone off, as he finished his first song a friend sent me a text message, too which my phone responded with the loudest of beeps. Great acoustics in that hall!

Best: Jurassic 5 at the Red Box in Dublin and than 2 years later at Vicar St. in Dublin. Amazing live band.

then Audoslave and Basement Jaxx at Oxegen (that a festival though. System of a Down in Berlin.

Worst: Can't remember - probably some crap student gig. Actually I was really disappointed with Blackalicious in Village (Dublin).

Pretty Hard as often so good in their own way, but different

1 Muse (Nov 06)
2 Blur (Dec 97)
3 Stone Roses (Spike Island, May 90)
4 Franz Ferdinand (Nov 05)
5 Prodigy (Aug 97)

Worst; as a headlining act was Basement Jaxx, just dull rather than really bad.

As for support acts the worst I've probably seen were Polytechnic; the singer couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, bless him.

Best: The Divine Comedy this very year, here in Paris at L'Olympia. The band has a very strong fan base in France. so everyone was really pleased. Brilliant.

Worst (by miles): The Guns n' Roses, back in the early 90s also in Paris. It was plain bad, the show was broadcasted live on U.S. TV so there was this this 5 MINUTES BREAK between every two or three songs. Horrid.

1. Tool's Lateralus tour. AMAZING
2. A Perfect Circle's 13th Step Tour. Surreal (on shrooms)
3. Sepultura (Roots tour with Max), Type O Negative (Bloody Kisses tour) and Ozzy (Ozzmosis tour). In 1995 in Austin Texas at some outdoor amphitheater. Was my first time seeing any of those guys live. "Black No. 1" during sunset was perfect.

The worst was Disturbed. I hope they just had a off night because they sucked my left one.

funnily enough The Kinks about 15 years ago.
Ray Davis came on stage - union jack jacket and guitar sang two songs - though i suppose this is ok. - then bang bang fire works the rest of the band came on stage full electrics. was amazing.
seen hazel O'Connor lots of times. got invited to a private gig only 50 tickets was so good. was upstairs in Brighton above a vegetarian restaurant. Hows about you?

I saw U2 live for the first time in 2005, June 19th at Twickenham. I went with my younger sister who was seriously ill: she had wanted to go because she didn't have long left with us, and we had both always loved the band. It was an incredible evening and one that will always be very special to me.

Worst: Kula Shaker, 1997, which a friend dragged me to. What a godawful racket.

Green Bay Hedgehog: you were at Spike Island? OMG! I am very, very jealous! I saw John Squire play live as part of the Seahorses at V97... that man inspired me to pick up my own guitar.

Best - Cocteau Twins at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut.
Worst - Sabbath in Germany when Gillan fronted them and was reading the words to the songs (crap), the gig was saved by Diamond Head supporting, they were awesome.
