Going to war against anyone for any reason at any time is always an option. And it's a good option.

The only thing keeping us being all up in Iran's hind end is that sneaky pencil-neck Sy Hersh, who always spoils the surprise. With characteristic detachment. The yutz.

America is just plain number one and will continue to be so until the last impoverished, semi-literate patriot who joins up comes home in the last body bag.

In fact, far beyond that point.

What a lot of people don't seem to know or choose not to remember is that this nation was founded by private contractors.

Most of the services, arms and materiel used in our revolutionary war came through no-bid contracts with huge multinational corporations, all of them in tricorn hats and knee-socks. Some still had wigs!

The National Gallery in Washington DC has finally completed restoration on a recently discovered painting of Gen. George Washington with his retinue crossing the Halliburton River, the very painting which was the inspiration for the more well-known Washington crossing the Delaware. Again, tricorns, knee socks, and--wait for it--WIGS!

But the Darfur question is important. When they discover oil there, I am sure we'll see a subcontractor come along and set up shop.

An air war on Iran would require special bombs that could bust through underground bunkers where they apparently have their nuclear facilities.

These facilities are also likely in major metropolitan areas with many civilians.

It would require a large commitment of ground forces in Iran that would somehow have to be pulled together.

The U.S. has maintained that all options are on the table.

Ultimately, someone will probably go after Iran because it seems to be continuing on its course of establishing itself as a nuclear power and it is actually run by terrorists.

I'm not sure how military force would help in Darfur or what the exact targets would have to be.

After the UN deadline expires on May 23 there may be military action against Iran. I have made a lot of posts about it including what military is available in the area. I would copy it for you but I am answering posts about the Virginia Tech massacre now. You can click on my name and look at my posts before this happened.

"We" are not only overextended, but need to rethink our military role in the world.

Remember, the Soviet Union got caught up in being a superpower and ran completely out of money--trying to prosecute wars in the middle east, no less.

The entire US world credit structure is based on our control of oil trade through the use of US dollars. A US war with Iran would mean that all countries switch their oil trade accounts to the euro. The crash of 1929 would be child's play in comparison to what that could do to the US economy.

The US has no moral standing left, what with extraordinary rendition and other abuses of power. Better to dust off 'education and influence' instead of military might as a way to protect our country.

No,US shouldn't go to war with Iran.Nuclear Power Organization admitted that there is still a long time until Iran makes the nuclear bomb, moreover it isn't threatening US.For Darfur,Sudan has signed an agreement with UN,moreover there are many crises since long time-like Israeli Occupation- which US had not tried to interfere in it.

Hi, you left an answer on one of my questions regarding poisonous animals in england!
I am discusted at the answer you have given and I find it extremely offensive not only to myself but to the rest of my country! I feel that answer was a form of racism towards england and I feel it was completely inappropriate!
I dont know who you think you are and what you think you know about people of the UK but let me tell you something, we are the wealthiest country in the world and one of the most respected, the women of the world look for english men as they are well spoken and gentlemen, well educated and hard working. I dont know where you are from, but if it's the U.S how dare you comment on the behaviour of the british! We might be a bit lairy at times, we might like a drink! we dont carry guns........ Hence the fighting, maybe if you guys didnt use weapons and did things the old fashioned way, like real men, there maybe more fighting and less shootings!

F-14's have been retired for a few years now.
We are still talking and that is good but the war option should never be taken off the table.
You have to back up your stand.
If Iran does reject all talks and lets say they nuke somebody.
All bets are off and they should become a glass parking lot.

Id send in B2s from Italy & B52s from Germany & then carrier strike planes from Gulf & ask Israeli Air force to Pathfind the missions to Iran nuke sites.
Send in cruise missiles, 100-200.
EW jam Iran Radio.
Have forces build up in Iraq side.
100 day air war??
200 day air war, 30 day Ground war.
