My father fought against Naziism but he didn't expect democracy to deny me choice.
I'll probably vote Conservative but I'm not over-keen on Cameron.

I am a great believer in freedom of speech and the right to vote for whatever party you want. If Cameron had any kind of backbone or common sense, he would be arguing against the policies, attitudes and values of the BNP, as many of us do on here almost every day, instead of simply saying it is wrong to vote for them .
The only way to beat the BNP and stop people voting for them is to oppose them at every turn, never let there views go unanswered and expose them for what they are.
Perhaps Cameron should visit this site in order to get a few tips on how to tackle them. With a spineless twit like him as leader of the Tories, its no wonder that people are looking for other alternatives to Labour.

Good question. It goes against the grain to agree with David Cameron on anything, but he is bang on right here.
This however does not make him any less of an over-privileged opportunistic smarmy little tosspot.
It is also wrong to vote Tory even once, unless you are voting tactically to keep the BNP out.

BNP the question of this party is an ongoing thorny problem. one really must ask the question as to why they are picking up so much support.
The answer is simple the nature of the UK is changing and to the average Briton its changed for the bad with the influx of immigrants from not only Africa but eastern Europe as well so how can a Brit be racist if its all immigrants he is worried about?.
Tied to that the ever threat of being sold down the river into Europe that none of us want you have a situation where none of the main parties are listening to what the people of this country want and when I say this country I refer to black as well as white, I am married to a carribean lass and she is horrified by what she see's as pure folly by the labour Government letting the whole world in.
When her father came here he did so during a 20 year stint in the RAF so he served the country he wanted to be part of, now thats what you call a respected immigrant.
I expect that over these council elections and the next General election that the BNP will get seats, this will light the fire that is needed under the main parties to sort out the mess they have made on immigration, it might be just enough for all our lazy rotten polititians to understand that they need to listen to what the people want, lets face it they are elected by us the voter to serve our needs. not the other way round where they do as they please and sod us as all polititians seem to do at present.
For me the BNP is not an option but for many folk it is, thats democracy lets just hope that what seats they do get makes labour/tory and liberal understand that we have had enough of their lies and bullshit

Love it, love it, love it, I just love it because at one time no one spoke about the BNP. Not because they were blatantly ignoring them but simply becasue the BNP did not mattter.
Now everyone talks about the BNP, love them or loathe them, they will have their day.
Party leaders are constantly talking about the BNP because they are shii@@ing themselves over the votes going over to them. Labout, Lib Dem, Tory, non of them have an answer to the tide of people changing centuries of voting habbits.
Oh yeah, you'll all jump in now and tell me I'm a nutter or some other less complimentary words, but it dont matter.
All your ranting and pontificating will not change the fact that the traditional parties are passing waste.

About the only thing I would agree with Cameron about.
Gems - you truly are stupid aren't you? Everybody does NOT want to vote for the BNP. Many of us have a lot more sense than to even contemplate putting a cross against the name of a candidate from that bunch on Nazi thugs. You also don't understand the concept of self respect.

5 years ago the thought of voting BNP wouldn't have entered most civil, non skinheaded thugs head but the fact 'normal' people are seeing them as a viable option should speak volumes to the powers that be.
I personally couldn't bring myself to vote for them, just like I wouldn't vote for The Tory party but we need to be aware that people are seeing their views as something they can relate to .

david cameron has no right to say who people should vote for other than himself and his own party, he cant tell people who not to vote for. its not the democratic way. the BNP are a legal party after all just because the majority dont agree doesnt mean the minority hasnt the right to voice their opinion on social issues by voting. this is the only time you will ever see the words "minority" used in reference to the BNP.

I disagree with him....it is the law of democracy that everyone can vote for anyone they want. He has the right to say that he disagrees with their policies but he has no right to say that it is wrong to vote for them. Because that is just his subjective opinion and he is passing it off as an objective fact.

No -he is a grade A twonk-he's just angling for the guardian reader vote -he must surely realise that anyone voting tory is effectively flushing their vote down the lav.At least the BNP know what the real issues are in the UK and are prepared to do something about it -once again open debate on immigration is denied us.Unfortunately i live in the **** end of the country (Wales) so i don't have a BNP candidate standing in the local elections they would definitely have my vote
