Does help mean loaning countries money we know they cant pay and when they don't pay we take their resources. Has anyone else read Confessions of an Economic Hit man,by John Perkins. For the most part the only ones who benefit from "aid" are the leaders that we basically put in power.Leaders who are liked by the people are often assassinated or die in plane crashes.

Do you really think this is a serious question? Do you really believe that America (as a country) doesn't help less fortunate countries?
Pushing the/an agenda hasn't always been and probably won't always be an issue. That comes and goes with different administrations.
We happen to have one now that is especially bad.
This country in it's official capactiy and as a whole (it's citizens) are both incredibly generous. I think you need to do a little more research. While we may not agree with the current administration, the US as a whole isn't all bad.
Look at the tsunami relief just as a quick example. That helped countless countries - no strings attached.
I won't touch your God comment.

You've got 2 separate issues there.
1. Helping the less fortunate. Our nation was founded on each person has the right to the pursuit of happiness. We are not guaranteed happiness, just the pursuit of it. So we are not obligated to help any other nation. We do provide assistance to other countries, but through private, non-government supported institutions such as the Red Cross (bad example, I know).
2. We have many in the US of A who do not believe or support in the current administration actions of attempting to dictate to other countries the form of government they should have. We do believe we have the best system, but then citizens of other countries believe their system of government is better whether its socialism, communism, or a democratic monarchy. For whatever its underlying ideals are. But VP Cheney trying to tell Pres. Putin they have to move towards democracy was embarassing.

Last time I checked, our own backyard could use some landscaping. We have people living on the streets, kids dying of starvation, unemployed citizens, people living without heat or electricity due to not being able to afford to pay the bill, and elderly eating cat food because their fixed income isn't enough to pay for the food they need. Not to mention that I am looking at by the time I retire, I will not have Social Security - the same thing that I have paid thousands of dollars into each paycheck since I started working at the age of 16.
This country can't help all of its own; what makes you think we have the obligation to help the rest of the world?

Because if America helped these countries it would not be wealthy. Where do you think this money comes from?
Maybe if you could come up with a theory of how the universe was created you might be able to make that statement sound less dumb. Just because you think something, doesn't mean it's true.

It is because of the ideals that this country was built on that it has wealth and power.
Freedom, protection of private property, democracy, etc; these are the things that has made our country wealthy, and coincidentally these are the ideals that we are "pushing."
And you are an idiot if you are claiming that the US does not give aid to other countries. We give more than the rest of the world combined.

We spend hundreds of billions of dollars in foreign aid every year. We are the most generous county in terms of charity giving (Inernational Red Cross, Unicef, etc.), and we are willing to go to war because a country asks us for our help. All these countries that hate us never get around to sending the checks back, do they?

By nearly all measures, the amount of foreign aid provided by the United States
declined for several decades but has grown in the past few years. After hitting an all-
time low in the mid1990s, total foreign assistance (but excluding Iraq reconstruction)
for FY2003/2004, in real terms, has been larger than any two-year period since the
mid-1980s.

Have you not heard of the amount of money budgeted for foreign aid being in the BILLIONS! We need DOMESTIC AID. Get our health care system and education systems under control. Although I'm not a big welfare advocate, we shouldn't have people right here in our country starving or malnourished while we send BILLIONS overseas.
