Summer's coming up, and I was thinking of maybe hitting the tanning beds a bit to get somewhat of a tan. The thing is, I'm pretty white and I don't want to waste money and time trying to tan, if I'm not gonna see any difference. I don't have freckles or red hair, but I'm pretty pale with blond hair. The thing is, my parents and bro have a darker complextion than me. What do you guys think?

Here are some pics of me:

Melanoma is not a type of cookie, it's CANCER.
Plus, if you tan too much now you'll look like a roast chicken when you're older.

To tell you the truth, when I worked at a tanning bed there were people with your skin tone 'attempting' to tan constantly and even if they only went 10 minutes they would burn every time, and it was a waste of money. But, do you tan easily or do you just burn when you go out in the sun. If you do eventually get a tan, then I would go for it just start out with 6 or 7 minutes and gradually increase 1 minute a day. You will have to get an unlimited month to see results though, because you will have to go everyday until you get up to at least 15 minutes.
Final advice, never go the day after you get burned.

If you are unsure whether or not you tan well, then go test it out for about 8-10 minutes in a bed. Then, decide for yourself.

Hi. I just started tanning at the beginning of this month. And I was just as white as you are. I started tanning at 4 minutes monday thru friday, skipping the weekends, to give my body a break. Now im up to 8 minutes. And i have an awesome color. I hope this helps some. Just dont stay in the beds too long, cause you will burn. But tan for about 2 weeks, and if you dont see a change in your skin color, that means your skin wont keep a tan. Some people are like that.

Tanning beds are great for a base tan but you really need to use a really good moisturizing tanning lotion specifically for tanning bed use. There are some on the marketed that help increase that sun kissed look out there, bronzers etc. The place where you tan should be able to give you a good suggestion. But always use SPF at least 25 outside and good luck.

i don't suggest tanning beds or the sun. you should try jergen's sunless tanner or a similar one. i heard banana boat is good. it's better than causing wrinkles or burning in the sun, plus it can cause skin cancer, so your best bet is the sunless tanner.
