Ok so I know its illegal... but if the person who was doing it was a family member tampering with your mail, and you've talked and they still won't stop... How much is enough before you turn the person in?

Get a post office box, with only one key, and only you will have access. Problem solved.

The Post Office is not going to go after every single person tampering with the mail? Is it a person snooping in your mail that lives with you? While it is technically against the law, I do not see the Postal Inspectors going after the person. Now, if the person is tampering with criminal intent, then you have a better chance of the Post Office doing something about it. Your best bet, get a mail box at the Post Office or one of those mail centers and have your mail delivered there. That is the best chance of keeping this person out of your mail.

If you don't want to turn them in since it is a felony and punishable by going to prison then I would get a post office box and that would put an end to it. If this is not some thing you can do, ask a good friend or other family member that you trust if you could have your mail forwarded to their house. Hope this helped.

You would really turn in your family member over mail?

The post office box suggestion was right on the money. Get one and problem solved. Your family member may be a jerk, but at least you can all have Thanksgiving dinner together without everyone being mad at you for turning him or her in...

nothing can be done because that person also resides at same address and not an outsider coming to tamper with your mail at your mailbox which is intercepting and is illegal.
