He is 11 and he stayed home from school sick and I had class. I said no computers or video games. He played on the computer for, he says 30 minutes. I grounded him for 1 day and he says that means in the morning, and he said ask anyone, so I said we'll ask everyone. He plays on there too much anyway. That is all I grounded him from-computer and video games.

depends on how you word it. if you say 'today' its over in the morning. if you say 'one day' its 24 hours. at least, thats how my parents do it

1 day- it could be more than 24 hours. you should ground him from the time he gets home and you ground him until the next morning after a full day of being grounded.

However how old is your son? If you only ground him for 1 day he's going to laugh at you.

LOL, if I ground my son today, when I get home, he's grounded for a full day, meaning all of tomorrow, then he's allowed out on the following day. That 24 hours bit won't work unless it's the weekend because he'll play with his buddies at school. School is the groundation loop hole so you gotta watch for that.

I'd say 24 hours after you grounded him, but you're the parent, so you get to pick. Just make sure the next time you ground him, he gets the same rule.

I would say 24 hours. Cause if you ground him @ 8pm and tell him he's ungrounded in the morning then it was a total waste!

It doesn't matter either way but set the ground rules on the grounding and keep them the same if you ground him in future. Once you slip away more times than not your kids were play on that to get out of it and not learn anything from it.

I say it depends on the situation. If you want. when you say hes grounded for a day, hes grounded until you say hes free to go out the next day.
