I'm trying to copy my old albums to CD's. I can only get maybe 4 songs to copy. Help says it may be I'm using CD's too slow for my CD drive. I can't find out what speed my HP Laptop Pavillion ZD8000 CD speed is. Can anyone help?

It seems there are two types of optical drives that were available for your machine from HP.

See under optical drives

■ Support for the following optical drives:
❏ 8X Max DVD±RW/R and CD-RW Combo Drive
❏ 24X Max DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive

I hope you are using software that copies the LPs to your HDD as they are being played, and then later burn those files to CD or DVD. I don't think you can successfully copy LPs directly to CD.

I hope that helps.

I believe you can do this...

Start Menu
Accessories
System Tools
System Information

This file should give you that info.

Also, try a right click on the Disk Drive letter in the explorer window.
