truth hurts? I've yet to see where truth and their agenda have ever gone hand in hand.

First, because it proves that you either cannot read, or you cannot add. Your link lists 7% as Liberal, 2% as Very Liberal, so that's at least 9%. And if you count half of those Moderates, that gets you a few more.

Yes, the military is a predominantly conservative organization. But I don't think military service alone can be used as a touchstone for who loves their country. In a world where there are dozens of avenues to contribute to the benefit of our nation, some choose military service, some choose other things.

Yes, the truth hurts. But then again, most of the military now says that it was a mistake to go into Iraq.

Many of them view the troop surge as a lost cause:

And do you blame them since the U.S is inadvertantly aiding Sadr's islamic army due to the incompetance of the Iraqi government.

When the military was feeling most optimistic about the war — in 2004 — 83 percent of poll re spondents thought success in Iraq was likely. This year, that number has shrunk to 50 percent.

Only 35 percent of the military members polled this year said they approve of the way President Bush is handling the war, while 42 percent said they disapproved.

In 2004, when his popularity peaked, 63 percent of the military approved of Bush’s handling of the war. While ap proval of the president’s war lead ership has slumped, his overall approval remains high among the military.

Just as telling, in this year’s poll only 41 percent of the military said the U.S. should have gone to war in Iraq in the first place, down from 65 percent in 2003.

When asked if Today's military is stretched too thin to be effective.

We know that some of them are conservative as witnessed in this video because these kinds of soldiers have no regard for suffering or for life.

Really ? How do you know "they" don't like you saying it.

Who automatically thinks it's bad that you say such things ?

The truth is that Liberals know that they don't join the military in large numbers. In fact Everyone knows that Liberals don't join in large numbers. Why would anyone care if you point out the obvious facts ?
I think thou art a liar.

For the same reason others do not like when I say this.

"The military professionals who make up the core of today’s career force no longer believe President Bush is on the right track in Iraq. According to this year’s Military Times Poll, only 35 percent approve of the way President Bush is handling the war in Iraq; 42 percent disapprove. It is the first time in the war that those who disapprove outnumber those who approve. What’s more, only 41 percent now believe we should have gone to war in the first place."

"They are not fuzzy-headed liberals who can be dismissed with a cheap slur like cut and run.

But even this group has grown deeply pessimistic about the likelihood of success in Iraq. Barely half now think we can win.

The people we poll are the front-line leaders – midrange and senior noncommissioned officers, company and field grade officers. These are the men and women who must look young troops in the eye and order them to risk their lives. And they doubt the president’s judgment on the war."

Well, actually 9% of the military view themselves as liberal, 2% being very liberal and 7% being liberal, but you point is taken. Isn't a good question as to why the people fighting and dying continue to be mostly conservative and/or Republican? This is no new trend, is has always been like this. Liberals do not like the quote because they are busy telling people what is good for them. I guess them telling the military to get out of Iraq because it is good for them falls on deaf ears, very deaf ears. I wonder why more military men arn't liberals... It might be because the liberals are busy calling them all baby killers, murderers, etc...

No surprise at all.
Republican President starts a war
All volunteer military
Republicans support their war and the Republican President
So it stands to reason that a majority of the all volunteer military would be mostly Republican.
Notice how few are on each extreme and how equal the extremes are.

Once again you ask a question intended to demean. You are the stereotype for the weak minded Rush Limbaugh wannabes out there. You take one datum and a ton of preconceptions and cook up a meaningless question.

You know that you need Hillary Clinton even to exist. That's why you use her picture. Tragic.

I don't.

What this tells me is that the conservatives are the sons and daughters of the wealthy, well connected and kept out of the "hot zones". There are only 7 % left alive, the rest Bush has gotten killed in this sham of a war.

Pity that you can't use your powers to solve issues as opposed to make people more divided. . .

You never served; did you?

People in the military don't sit around talking about politics like we do. They are focused on their mission. In their off hours they talk about girlfriends, boyfriends, sex, sex, sports and their hometown.

Sorry to disappoint you Shirley.

Edit: The horrible chow is also a major topic of conversation. All soldier's Moms were the best cooks ever. lol

To be technically correct, you left out the 2% that said they were very liberal for a total of 9%. However, I really could not care less what the political make up of the military is. Considering the conservative love affair with guns, it would make sense.
