Hi, stay away from ebay unless it's in your home town and you can look at it and try it. Even new ones may not be new and could be ex demo that have 2 years life run out of them in 3 months in the shops. Don't buy Dell either.

You want a cheap laptop I will give you a choice of 3. I have the Acer and 2 friends at work have the HP and the Compaq. All are similar spec but I would say the HP is slightly better as it has an AMD processor although I am extremely happy with my Acer.

Please don't buy a packard bell or advent either. Advent are packard bell. Buy a decent brand like one of the top 3 I have mentioned. Ebuyer will deliver next day

Best wireless router around has to be a Netgear. Don't take my word for it. Look at www.reviewcenter.com and you see it comes out top. Thats why I bought a DG834G. D-link make a good router as well

Ebay's the Way.

Any computer made in the past several years will meet your requirements. You'll need a DVD - Rom Drive for the movies, which has not always been a standard for a laptop, but for surfing & music anything should do.

Before you get the router, get the computer. There are many different types of routers available, and Wireless-G is still the standard, but your notebook may or may not have a wireless card built in. You'll need to know if it does before you pick a router.

Also, many companies over "speed boosting" or "increased range" or the like, but both the router and the computer's wireless card must be of the same type in order to use those features. Otherwise, it may not work at all.

I'd recommend getting a machine with a Wireless - G card built in, and if you can find one, with Bluetooth built in as well.

hey try dell there ace! there web site has loads of fab offers on and they change offten so you can get what you want for the money you want!

you could probably get one for about £350 ish price range that will probably do everything you want and more.

most laptops come wireless enabled, which is what you will need if you wanna use a wireless router.

Routers are pretty easy to set up although they can be a bit of a faff if you dont know too much about computers.
there is 2 different types of wireless router so first you will need to know if you have a BT/tiscalli internet connection or a cable one like virgin media.

once you know that it will be pretty easy to track one down on ebay. i wouldn,t bother with PC world an the likes as only there to rip you off!

i'd recomend a Linkskys router if your cable as there pretty cheap about £30 but also have a free phone help line you can call 24hrs a day if you have any problems at all and this came in esp handy when i was setting mine up.

if your bt/ tiscalli i would recomend a bt voyager one thats unlocked off ebay- i got one for when i'm at uni, where i have bt. And its been more or less problem free since we got it an the seller one e-bay was ace really helpfull when we where setting it up.

You could buy a copy of Micro Mart computer magazine, it's only £1.99 and you will find numerous adverts. There are some excellent bargains in reconditioned as new laptops with a full warranty. Also a lot of brand new at discount prices. It's also a good magazine if you want to know a little more about how things work. Hope this helps

The cheapest Celeron M w/ a DVD drive would do the job. Of course 2nd hand units would be cheaper, but do not expect long battery life.

On wireless routers, my personal experience is just limited to D-Link DI-624. It's been running 24x7 for 15 months now. My wireless connection has been VERY reliable; even on my PDA.

i'm an quite obsessive guy or woman. I watch the entire trilogy of Lord of the rings lower back and lower back lower back. And the comparable with songs - if I hear a song i like, i will placed it on my mp3 participant as quickly as and hear it God is acquainted with how many situations. i do no longer likely obsess over bands anymore - yet whilst i grow to be 12-thirteen, i grow to be actually Linkin Park mad. I knew all the words to all their songs and knew each little thing approximately each band member - no shaggy dog tale - each little thing. i'm over it now, although If i might desire to take heed to a minimum of one song lower back and lower back for a whole day it would Cassius by using Foals.
