I think so. Hate is such a strong emotion that you need a foundation to base it off of.

depends on how you look at it some would say yes and others no but you have to remember that their is a fine line between love and hate. and the ones we love could be family to that guy 20 years ago who you once knew in school...

I can not hate anyone, but I can dislike someone--as hate is a very powerful word---if I ever loved that person love would be locked away in my heart---when hatred is involved that is when revenge sets in.-----

I don't think so. People are either capable of hate or not. I've never hated anyone, I've shown dislike by not giving the time of day to a person. But to stew in a tense, upsetting anger is not something I would be interested in.

i don't think this is true!
i know where your coming from because the feeling of being wronged by someone you truly loved is so strong, sometimes you can never get over it.
but, if someone you hardly knew killed or abused a family member or someone who is very dear to you i think it would be very easy to hate them just as much even though you never really spoke to them.

No, I have never loved a murderer or a tyrant etc, so can quite happily say i hate them, and no love is involved.

I think so. You really need to have a strong bond with someone before you can have such a powerful emotion as hate. I think if there is no previous feeling toward someone, then it is more like an extreme dislike.
