YES! if your responsible for what your dog does then yes you should definitely be held responsible for what your gun does. There are so many way's that you can prevent children from having an accident with a firearm. There are even government funded programs that offer free gun locks, all you have to do is call and they will send you all the stuff to keep your firearms safe from children. The best safety plan is to not have guns in the house with children, but if for some reason you feel that you need to have one you should most definitely be responsible for it.

Actually, the second. Depending on which study you choose to believe, there are anywhere from about 150,000 to 2 million crimes prevented each year by armed citizens.

There are 30 to 35 thousand deaths each year attributable to firearms. Roughly half of those are suicides. About 90 percent of the remainder are homicides. Accidental death from firearms accounts for about 1200 deaths per year.

Now, how many people are killed each year by 4000 pound chunks of plastic and steel?

The protection of one's home especially in Georgia.

In one Gerogia town called Kennesaw, if you own property by law you have to own a gun. There is a .004 violent crime rate there. The rest of the US needs to go by their example.

Home protection—if you include laws that allow homeowners to keep guns in their homes as guns being used to protect one's home without a single shot being fired. Labeled gun free areas are much more vulnerable to crime..
