I go to a community college and I have a G.P.A. of 3.8. I am a full time student, I have a part-time job, and I volunteer on a weekly basis: tutoring at a library and at a hospice. I am studying abroad this summer. I am in a scholars program and I am in AGS (a honor society). Do I have a chance at Berkeley? Any tips? Does anyone know the GPA stats for admissions?

Your profile looks good. Check the Transfer Admission brochure from Berkeley for admission stats and additional information: http://students.berkeley.edu/files/Admissions/Transfer_07.pdf

Berkeley has several positions that are reserved for community college transfers. I taught some undergraduate classes there while I was getting my PhD. I had several students who had transferred from two year schools.

I assume that you are going to school in California now? It may be harder to do if not. If you are a California resident, you should be able to transfer to some UC school with a GPA like yours -- even if Berkeley doesn't take you.

Sounds like you have a real good chance. Lot depends on what you have taken to get your GPA, if it is mostly breath and university (English, Am Hist, etc) and how many units you've taken (~90 is good). If this is you then you are pretty much of a sure thing about getting admitted.

Try looking at their website.

I have heard that CA state schools are very good about accepting students from CA community colleges. Keep up the good work!
