If you give them room to grow they can live ten years or more, depending on the type. If you keep them in that small tank, and without a filter, they may not live much longer. For two regular goldfish, I would get at least a 40 gallon -- but depending on what you have, any upgrade could keep them from misery. Good luck!

In a tank goldfish generally have a lifespan of 2-7 years, but in a pond they can live up to 30 years.

Koi's live the longest in the goldfish family. Most fancy goldfish will live from 5 to 10 years old in a tank. Carpe Diem!

I had a gold fish that lived 10 years that I won at a fair... but I had a tank with a filter and everything so it really depends on how well you care for the fish and there tank... Hope they live long and bring you much joy....

goldfish can live for up to about 40-45 years depending on the conditions (longest lived was 43)...

most in captivity live to about 10-12 years, and some only 2-4 (kids...dear dear me!)

however..kois can live to well over 100 years, the oldest being about 250 (I think!)...so yes...longer lived than your average dog!

Well cared for easily 40 years or more. In the case of a small unfiltered tank 2-3 years is often about it, a few years more maybe if you keep it clean.
