Whom do you regard as the greatest fielder?

I think it has to be Jonty Rhodes of SA. The simple reason being that he revolutionalized fielding in its entirety. With that runout of Inzy Haq in WC 92 to his retirement in 2003, Jonty could make the team just based on his fielding. He was a handy batsman in the middle order. But how many of those did we have in the 90s and 2000s. His batting was second to his better skill of fielding. Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh, and what not are good fielders, but Jonty was in a team where everybody was an exceptional fielder and he made those players look small in stature by performing extra ordinary feats in the field. So hands down Jonty is our man.

Jhony of course. I have never seen anyone like him and there is none like him at the moment. I think he has punished his body more than most in forging a reputation as cricket's best fielder. I was stunned by his fielding at times. It seemed as though he dived like a goal keeper and threw like a baseball player.
That cover point position eternally belongs to Rhodes. I think its because of him that diving is more evident in cricket now...to think of fielding is to think of Jhonty. I think the words are synnomous with each other.

There are many player who could be named as good fielder but there is only one name who is famous for his fielding the most and that Jhonty Rhodes !! i didn't see any other player being famous for the fielding that much !!
