they are putting their droppings all over..we can't even BBQ without wiping their sh--of the BBQ..help pls

Alot of birds are afraid of owls so you could get a plastic owl but check with the retailer to make sure sparrows don't like them.
Or maybe get them to go somewhere else nearby, by putting a bird feeder on the other side of the yard or something.

I had the problem and tried owls and snakes and I finally started sitting out in the evening and firing a BB gun into the tree where they were roosting and they found a new spot after about 4 days--did not kill birds just scared the away.

Try putting bird feeders on the trees a few distance from your yard and deck. That will keep them busy.

Would get one ofthose predator birds that are hung up and look like they fly.
This and some M-80 shold do the trick
