Thankfully, the best brains that British Science has to offer (of which I am one), published a paper in 1998, providing the optimum dunking time and dunking angle for various types of biscuit. For Chocolate Digestives (McVities), 6 seconds, at an angle of 62 degrees, in a cup of tea at 75 degrees celsius is best. There is a summary of the research in the article below. I hate that when it happens.
Have you tried drinking you tea through a cadbury chocolate finger. You bite off the bottom and the top then suck. The biscuit melts leaving the chocolate. Yum!

yeah then you land up with goo at the bottom of the cup. rich tea fingers are the worst for this crime against tea drinkers

Hi i dont do it very often but when i do i hate it, its so annoying. I try to get the bikkie out with a spoon but it just vanishes then have to chuck my drink away.

No, I don't.
What I do is fill a glass with cookies nice and tight. Then I fill the rest with milk. Give it a minute or two and eat it with a spoon.
