When I'm having a cup of tea and I'm dipping chocolate biscuits in, I always leave the biscuit in for too long and it ends up flopping in!

Does anybody else have this problem? Do you find it annoying?

This is a much misunderstood and, until recently, under-researched science. Thankfully, the best brains that British Science has to offer (of which I am one), published a paper in 1998, providing the optimum dunking time and dunking angle for various types of biscuit. For Chocolate Digestives (McVities), 6 seconds, at an angle of 62 degrees, in a cup of tea at 75 degrees celsius is best. There is a summary of the research in the article below. I can let you have the full 543 page thesis if you wish.

I hate that when it happens.

Have you tried drinking you tea through a cadbury chocolate finger. You bite off the bottom and the top then suck. The biscuit melts leaving the chocolate. Yum!

No, I don't.

What I do is fill a glass with cookies nice and tight. Then I fill the rest with milk. Give it a minute or two and eat it with a spoon.
