Well, I'm a FTM transsexual and before testosterone I had a very VERY high pitched female voice (reminiscent of Minnie Mouse..seriously). Now, I have a smooth, sultry, deeper voice, in more of a tenor range (I've been told I sound like the guy from the Backstreet Boys when I sing). So, I guess I have a deep voice for a "female" but a high voice for a "male". (I still get called "maam" sometimes over the phone..it makes me wanna rip the phone off the wall when I hear that, but I digress)
And, most people take me more seriously NOW than they did when I had the "girly" voice I've noticed. By the way though, I've always been considered "intelligent". National Honor Society, gifted classes, International High IQ Society and all that, so it's hard to say if my voice has really played any factor or not.

I used to think that. I used to hate my voice (obviously a soprano). I thought that a person with a high voice wouldn't be able to command respect or to be taken seriously. But now I know better. It's not the pitch of the voice, but the tone. When you can assert yourself and present yourself as an intellectual, you will be perceived as such, end of story. A number of people have told me that I intimidate them at times because of the way I speak. I'm not a big girl (only 5"7' and 135lbs) and I'm not masculine or violent, but I carry myself like someone who is important, because I am. We all are. When the sooner we find that out, the better.

People say when talking on the phone that i have a very sexy upper-class female voice and Sat here taking calls from young men who want to get their rocks off some ask for me by name as my voice turns them on so much.
But what i have not told these guys is that i have a dick between my legs.
Even after 35 years on testosterone my voice is still turning guys on.

I thought the stereotypical geek had a higher pitched and nasal-ish voice, like Bill Gates, aren't they supposed to be more intelligent?

Don't think so. But a man with a lower voice is thought to be more manly(more testosterone) and more of a leader if I recall right from my science and technology show.

Say What?
Voice pitch has nothing to do with intelligence.

Voice and intelligence link has not been established. But homosexuality and higher intelligence has always been there for either sexes. Having higher testosterone level especially in foetuses seems to have something to do with it.
