I was until today. I had a blood test 3 months ago and it was horrible. I had one today as well and I expected it to be horrible too. It was actually painless, I didnt feel a damn thing. It hurt more to take the cotton and tape off than having the needle come through. So remember, blood tests are not painful.

Nope. When I started getting migraines when I was 14 I had to get blood tests all the time, now at 20 I'm use to it. Yeah they suck and if you get a mean nurse it's going to a little more pain than normal but they're a part of life and knowing your healthy :)

The pain level, I find, really depends on the technique of the phlebotomist....some are better than others. Don't mind blood tests, tho, as there is no studying, need for sharpened pencils, or snotty teachers over one's shoulder.

doesn't bother me a bit. One time my little niece and nephew heard that I was going for a blood test and they asked if it was going to hurt. I took them with me to see that it's No Big Deal! Hah! that time the girl actually was hurting me and I couldn't say anything cuz the kids were there. i was bruised and I showed them the other arm when we got back to the car. Geez!

OMG yes! I am terrified of blood tests! I faint every time I get one done...not because I'm scared but because I have low blood pressure. It sucks, so just becuse of that I'm scared!

I was a lab tech in the military and used to let the students practice on me. It didn't bother me until years later when I realized that the scars from the practice makes me look like a reformed junkie. ;)

thanks for the heads up but not needed..needles don't freak me out at all...of course being a Phlebotomist for 8 years helped..=)
TIP: never allow the med. tech. to stick you more than twice in one vein, only allow 3 attempts to get the vein, once in each arm and once in the top of the hand should be max....anything more is useless..someone else can get it if they can't..=)
