***I have to add that it will be much easier to find a new job than it will be to find a new doctor at this time. You will be causing yourself too much stress! Your doctor cares about YOU....your job does not care about anyone!!*****
I have to say that I totally agree with your doctor. There is no way that they can predict what might suddenly be a serious condition for you somwhere down the line that might (for instance) cause you to be on bed rest? How can he predict that?
If your place of employment is being unreasonable now, just imagine how difficult they will be after the baby comes! It does not sound to me like they are very supportive of your needs!
Look at it this way. What possible motive could the doctor have except wanting to make sure that your baby is born strong and healthy?? Your work only cares about the bottom line, they don't give a flying poo about your or your baby!
I would give them their stupid note and tell them what your doctor said.
There are millions of jobs but only one chance to have a perfect, healthy baby! I would tell them to take their job and shove it if they give you a hard time! They have NO right to fire you over this.
I think you should be on your doctors side and tell them that you are under a doctors care and that you will do what you have to do to protect the health and well being of your baby!
Good luck honey, it is an awful pickle that you are in and I am really sorry that you are in this situation.
I wish all mothers had nothing more to worry about than being pregnant! Heck, that is enough! You may not have that luxury but you sure as heck can have that mind set! You deserve it honey!
Please let use know what happens!
Love and Blessings

As a member in the medical field. Your dr has the right to be mad I don't think he was mad at you he was mad at your employer for wanting him to do the paper work.
(1) A Dr CAN NOT COMPLETE THAT FORM due to they have no idea what you will be able to do and what you wont be able to do, and what you can do today you may not be able to do tomorrow things happen every day in PG.
(2) The reason your work wanted the doctor to complete this form is they either are looking to find away to get rid of you or they want to use it against you later, (say your Dr completed this form stating YOU ARE able to stand for 7 hours a day and tree wks down the road something happens and now you cant stand for that long your work can use this against you.)

SO OVER ALL I THINK THE DR WAS LOOKING OUT FOR YOU AND YOUR BABY.

I think I made sense of all that, I am assuming you are pretty upset ( rightly so) and just typing away, lol, I do that too and then can't make sense of it all. I say you need to call around, and find a new doctor, go to your old one and request a copy of your medical records at the front desk, or your new doctor may just fax a request with your signature on it. You need to explain to the office staff ( at the new doctor) somewhat is going on and ask to have an appointment right away so you can get this dealt with. To find a good doctor call or go visit you local delivery unit in the hospital, they will tell you who the best doctor is. That way you arn't just reaching in the dark. Tell your work what happened, be very honest with them and tell them you are getting a new doctor and they should have a note in the next couple weeks.

Your doctor is right, he can't predict what will happen over the next 9 (or whatever) months. He also can't predict how you will feel doing certain activities.

I would tell your work that if they don't accept your judgement they can take it up with whoever legislates working conditions where you live (Where I live that would be the Ministry of Labour). You could also get a note from your doctor that excuses you from EVERY task on the list.

This whole situation is ridiculous.

I think your Dr. needs to write a letter saying that there is no way to predict limitations right now. If he does not want to update your limitations on a monthy basis or as needed, get a new doctor. I would explain to your work what he said and ask them what they think is best to do from this point on. Either way, don't get stressed out! I think your Dr. is right on the part of you using your judgement. However, I think he should have written that to your job.
Very Best Wishes!

How far along are you? Possibly switch to another doctor. I have had some issues that are work related and my doc and his partner (see both in case the other delivers) are very supportive and sympathetic. You need a doc that will be sympathetic even if they have to tell you something you don't want to hear.

Sounds like you doc doesn't want to set himself up for a liability suit if he leaves something out and you or the baby get hurt. It also sounds like your work is trying to do the same thing. If you are uncomfortable with your doctor now, you may want to switch to a different one. I don't know if you are planning on going back to work after the baby, but if so, you may want to reconsider your current employment. If they are going to be that picky, they probably won't be very family friendly either. Good luck to you either way.

I'd really look into getting another doctor .. I switched doctors at 18 weeks .. now I'm 29 weeks and it's the best thing I've ever done!
(if he's giving you problems about that .. who knows what else he's going to give you trouble with along the way)
this pregnancy is about YOU and your BABY ... period.
Not him!

good luck! God bless!

Find a new OB, this one clearly has the bedside manner of a rattlesnake and is grossly insensitive to what your work requires of you.

Call your insurance company and ask to switch providers, explain to them what your OB did and tell them that you are not comfortable with this doctor and you don't feel that he can provide you with quality medical care because with an attitude like that he can't.

Good luck.

I agree, find a new doctor. It sounds like your work is only looking out for your best interest, since what you can do while pregnant it limited. Your doctor on the other hand doesn't seem to care. Good luck!
