there's thing plastic square thing you put underneath it. I'm not sure what it's called. but i'm sure if you go to HOme Depot or Wal-mart and ask they can tell you the name. it's called rug padding

If it is a throw rug over another carpet. Get a piece of velcro, and sew the hook part onto the back side of the throw rug.
If the rug is on hardwood or tile floors, then you can used double sided tape to secure it. Or you can go with the velcro again, but you will have to secure the felt side to the floor. good luck

Place a strip of sticky tape on the underside.
Also, I just learned that you aren't supposed to use rubber backed rugs on linoleum because it causes it to yellow over time. Our cloth rugs were like surf boards for the kids, until I tacky taped them.

You need a rug gripper. They sell them at wal-mart, home depot, target etc.
