Young on the Cover?

Question

I realize hes a godo player, but how is he on the cover of madden 08? there are many more accomplished players in the NFL such as chad johnson, ladanian tomlinson, and peyton manning who deserve it. He's a good player, but i dont' think hes this good. Your thoughts?

for some reason they always like to have African American players on the cover, aside from madden himself, it has never been a white player on the cover. secondly they hate to put 2 players of the same position the year after (rules out LT). finally if you notice since madden 2001 it has always been some position then QB then some position then a QB, then some position, then QB....etc.
so really i think they were looking for a QB, but according to history of madden, no white players are on it, so i think they were looking for a good black QB. and think about it, Vick, Culpepper, McNabb have already been on the cover, Leftwich was injured most of the year, and the others are just backups

so in the end i guess they went with Vince Young, since he is pretty popular, and fits the criteria of what they were looking for

It wasn't deserved based on talent. You have to remember that Madden 08 is marketing to the 10 to 15 year olds that do not really know a great deal about football

Tennessee's lack of receivers, combined with the usual sophmore slump, added to the Madden curse promises a long 2007 for VY

I thought Peyton or Larry Johnson...I mean, the best QB in the game or an amazing back in Johnson....it is possible, however, that these guys turned down the offer because of the curse...you gotta think of that....Vince is pretty sweet though, in the '07 game he progressed real quick for me, so its possible EA just like him that much.

he won games by himself, the titans were like 0-6 and he nearly led them to the playoffs, he can really take over the game, he's such a beast, i'd say it's a pretty good choice
