He wrote the book WALDEN which portrays the hermit life he led at Walden Pond in Concord, Massachusetts. WALDEN states Thoreau's philosophy of life which was to live simply and to thrive on nature. Concentrate of this great thinker's life and ideas and NOT on how he died.

Chow!!

He did many things in his life time but one of the books he is famous for is Walden, where he talks about living the simple life. "I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived."

Try to look at his life from a child's perspective. If you were a kid, what about him would be interesting to you?

Go to the library and look him up. You will find many books by him and about him. Read a few of them.
