Are you reducing sex between two human beings to equate w/what animals do? Are you dog? I'd be upset too that my so-called wife just want her daily maintenance w/o any emotional connection. Sex is the culmination of two souls coming together mixing their hopes, dreams, and bodies. It's a spiritual experience for me anyways. You should try and think about that.

Here's a different take for you:
When you are in love with someone, and you are together, and affection slowly intensifies, it is very different.
The first time with my now husband was my first in years, and his first ever; we'd waited until something special had formed between us. It was as emotional an experience as I have ever had, and it is every time with him.
I had to be in my 40's to discover there is a MAJOR difference between 'having sex' and 'Making Love'; don't think I need to tell you my preference! Making Love is about a million times more intensely satisfying and pleasurable. When there is emotion behind it, it actually feeds more than just a physical appetite. The difference between a firecracker, and a mortar shell.

Well, there's 3 kinds of sex, I'm sorry 4 u if u dont get all 3 on occasion. There's making love, f--king, and having sex. Making love is FULL of emotion & nothing hotter with the right person. F--king is a crazy, animalistic act. And then sometimes we have sex to simply satisfy each others needs. Try to figure them out to triple your pleasure!

Don't listen to all these people calling you "cold" or "heartless", they do not know you and just by what you have told us it is not fair to make such a judgement. It probably just seems to hokie when your husband calls it "making love", it is kind of fruity to some people (including women). Everyone views sex differently, and just because you view it as fun, sweaty, hot, and pleasurable instead of all "lovey" and moving doesn't make you a bad person.
sex is whatever you want it to be. Good luck!

Don't listen to these people, they only have a different type of personality....So what if you think "making love" is a funny term?? That only means that you are a passionate person, not a romantic one!! And that's fine (yes, even for women!!).
I know I'm not the kind to think of sex as love, and I don't get the whole thing about getting flowers (cost a fortune and die in two days, who needs the hassle??), I don't go for poems or love songs....But I am VERY passionate, and I LOVE sex.
But what's "love" - the feeling - got to do with it??!!

Let's talk about "absurdity" - -
* you drink more than a bottle of scotch when you have sex (daily, of course)
* you think Scarlett Johanssen is ugly
* you have panic attacks
* you wanted to play Darth Vader's "Imperial March" when you walked down the aisle at your wedding
* you fear something you like to call "reefer madness"
* you despise society's conventions and rules
* you laugh at your husband when he tries to open up
And here you want to call someone *else* absurd?
Pot, meet kettle.

So...this isn't an act between two people that is so personal that it should be shared by only those two and is the closet and most intimate way you can share yourself with another?
If you don't quite feel that way about it then are you free this weekend? How do you feel about Italian food?

I agree, my wife and I have never used the term, of course some sessions are very tender and you could almost call it that, but when its wild monkey sex....it would be a real reach to call it making love, we usually call that f%$^*#*

To me sex feels awesome with someone you are in love with. So, to me, the best sex is when you're making love.

I'm with you, I would rather a chick grab me by the back of the neck and say "f*ck the ever lovin sense outta me" while gritting her teeth and grinding on me, rather than "hey honey lets make love"....sex is fun
