Does patriotism here mean "One who blindly agrees with everything their government tells them"? Then the answer would be yes, it doesn't sound right, 'cause the last time I checked, Liberals don't listen to our government blindly.
The best patriot is the one who questions the motives and policies of the government and therefore is trying to better his or her country.

I love this country. I think it's the best place to live in the world. I am a liberal because there are things about this country that make it great and make me proud- like personal freedom ie freedom of choice. I love my country for its tremendous natural beauty that I and other liberals strive to protect for future generations. When the things I love about my country are threatened, Dissension IS patriotism.

Freedom of speech, freedom of privacy, upholding the constitution. Creating a cleaner country for our children so they can see the beauty that we take for granted everyday. Wanting universal healthcare so that the family down the street that survived their housefire triggered by faulty wiring, thanks to the heroic efforts of their tax funded fireman, won't have to suffer the effects of smoke inhalation and burns, or even go into severe debt, because of the nature of their injuries. We can save them now, but not save them later? I think that liberalism just creates peaceful, healthy, and EQUAL conditions in our free economy.

Cons keep beating that same drum. The liberals I know are the most patriotic citizens in this country. We have the sack to speak up against the wrongs this admistration are doing.
