Now this may be stupid but here goes. I am a temp at this company and I applied of a job here. So my supervisor ask me to give him my resume and then asked if I can stay till 5:30 the boss may want to interview you that was on tuesday so I did then I went to the boss office at that time but when I got there he was not there and my supervisor had left. It is now Friday and I am concerned that maybe they did want to do the interview and are saying I did not show up. I want to know what should I do now. Should I just go into the office and ask when are they interviewing for the position because as far as I can tell they did not definately tell me that my interview was 5:30 that evening just that it might be(and plus he was not even there).

No - this isn't stupid! It's happened before when I would schedule interviews.

Call or stop by whoever was supposed to interview you, and say "I came by at 5:30 for an interview but there wasn't anyone here. May we reschedule?"

And do it NOW! If not sooner! It looks to me like it was an issue with communication, so communicate what happened and your interest in permanently joining the team!

You should have done that the morning after the interview, but you can still salvage this. Try, "Hi, when I came by at 5:30 the other night, no one was here. Are you still interviewing for the ________ position? "

If the answer is "yes", ask when you can schedule an appointment and take it from there. Good luck.

It sounds like it was only a "maybe" and not a definite interview. Don't say anything about it, just go and ask again when the interview is. They will reschedule.

Ask your supervisor for advice. Tell him or her what happened, that you went at the time they told you but the boss wasn't there. I assume you waited more that just five minutes.

Call & Ask - before you let anymore time slip by. Also make sure you the staffing agency you work through know that you are looking for other opportunites - so they will know to expect that they will need a replacement for you soon.
