Ok. so ive been really good friends with this girl for about a year and a half now. Last year she dated this guy [tyler] and the whole time they dated i told her he was cheating and she got mad and wouldnt speak to me, then he dumped her and she found out he WAS cheating, just like i had said and she cried and said she was sorry for calling me a liar and stuff. Now a year since that relationship shes dating a new guy [JD]. I dont understand why she wants this guy. Hes bad news. A pot head, nasty, doesnt bathe, he smells like an *** tray and hes just rude to me. Ive tried to hang out with her twice now and both times shes blown me off for him, and at first i thought..well its not too bad...but its to the point now its really starting to hurt. She's changed a lot since shes been with him. Her grades have dropped (we're all seniors in HS), she has started smoking pot, lying to her mom about where she is and who she is with, shes never home...i just dont know anymore. Any advice?

Confesse something to you? I had a best friend in highschool and one of my greatest regrets was not treating him like a brother, I just treated him like a friends. Because of this he lived his life and I lived mine. Were still close friends but this chose of ours destroy'd what could of really been a good partnership. We would of made DARN sure the other one had someone who was worth them, and we would of made DARN sure the other one didn't feel like they went at it alone. Its natural I think and going the other way didn't just hurt us and him, it hurt me. So if she really is a really good friend maybe you should let her know how much more you care about her the JD and you didn't even have to f her. Let her know that maybe, just maybe you guys could try and live your lifes helping each other, instead of watching each other drown. If not then just like me, you'll have to understand the rest of her life is in her hands as she sees it, and JD has more to offer her them you.... so he'll always win hands down.... sorry its this way but its part of the same problem that plauges american families right now, that we were never met to live our lives just for ourselves... were just not good at it ;-) well I guess we would be if we were on a desert island, but thats not where were at now, we need each other. Not just to sell are futures short for someone who well just have sex with us, but for people that respect us and the story we have... good luck
