usa is a force for good. certain elements in the government are so, so bad. try posting this on foreign yahoo sites and see what the actual world thinks. so many neocon wannabes on this site will skew the figures.

What if the USA were to fall off the face of the earth? Well, there would be strong chaos all over the world, especially in regions in which the US was supporting leadership that was not in line with its own people. Wars would be strong. Struggles for power would be strong. But as long as they are left to themselves, eventually things would settle, and each nation would be left with leaders that are more in line with its own people. Chaos would subside, and Earthlings would begin the trial-and-error of developing more solid institutions. Maybe they would succeed, maybe fail. Probably somewhere in between. In the end though, I think the world would improve.

The US is a force for good. We have prevented numerous countries from being taken over by other countries. We provide aid all over the world. Without the US the world would have fallen to communism. Thanks to the US democracy has spread to places that none would have dreamed it would have reached.

i think it's just the USA's time to shine... the egyptians had theirs, the people then thought they were a "force for good"... in some parts of the world, the greeks and romans had their time too... then there's persia, alexander the great... spain and portugal dividing the world to themselves.. and all that...

it may not be in our lifetime, but i think another power will emerge... nothing man-made is "for good".
